On September 23, 1995, quite probably the first sousaphone concert ever was played on top of Mount Harvard. Mike and I carried them to the top, with moral and athletic support provided by Tony and Dr. C. More Clearly. We played Stars and Stripes, Semper Fi, Washington Post, El Capitan, and other various and sundry marches too numerous to mention, all in beautiful two-part dissonance.

How to climb a mountain with a sousaphone. Or how not to.

We camped here -- just past the lake.

It snowed on our fine instruments!
